A working holiday or work and holiday visa allow you to work and travel in the country for up to twelve months. This type of visa is great for young people who wish to see the country while working in casual jobs to help supplement their finances.

Passport holders from the following countries may be eligible to receive a working holiday visa: Belgium; Canada; Republic of Cyprus; Denmark; Estonia; Finland; France; Germany; Hong Kong Special Administrative Region of the People’s Republic of China (includes British National Overseas passport holders.

Republic of Ireland; Italy; Japan; Republic of Korea; Malta; Netherlands; Norway; Sweden; Taiwan; and the United Kingdom. Citizens of Chile, Thailand, Turkey or the United States may be eligible to apply for a Work and Holiday visa that provides them with similar opportunities for tertiary educated people between 18 and 30 years of age.

Applicants from the United States do not have to meet the tertiary education requirements.
