In maritime Southeast Asia, Singapore, formally known as the Republic of Singapore, is an island nation and city-state. Southeast Asia’s and the world’s busiest port is located in Singapore. Due to its strategic location at the southernmost tip of the Malay Peninsula, where it commands the Strait of Malacca, which connects the Indian Ocean with the South China Sea, it has experienced rapid expansion and prosperity.
Education has played a key role in the rise of this tiny island nation, and the Government of Singapore continues to place a great emphasis on it. Perhaps unsurprisingly, Singapore’s universities are among some of the most highly ranked and well-regarded in the world. One of its most well-known is the National University of Singapore (NUS), which has been consistently ranked among the top three universities in Asia since 2013.

Due to its proximity to the equator, Singapore experiences typical tropical weather throughout the year, including high and consistent temperatures, heavy rains, and high humidity. Many of its climate factors, like temperature and relative humidity, don’t vary significantly from month to month.
